Heather Grogan
Licensed Professional Counselor
Hello, I’m Heather Grogan, a licensed professional counselor who’s passionate about helping people overcome mental health challenges in a safe and inclusive environment. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or any other mental health concern, I’m here to support you on your journey towards greater well-being.
As a therapist, I am committed to destigmatizing the stereotypes surrounding mental health and helping those who feel like outsiders due to their lifestyle preferences.
I strongly believe in creating an open-minded, non-judgmental, and safe space based on trust, rapport, and empathy. My goal is to help you overcome any obstacles that are holding you back from feeling fulfilled and living your life to the fullest. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to help them achieve their goals, whether it’s in the short-term or long-term.
I work providing telehealth to residents of Rhode Island and South Carolina. If you are ready to take the next step please reach out. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and affirming environment. I am here to help.
My academic journey began at Southern New Hampshire University, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology. I then moved on to complete my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the same institution. I have extensive experience in community mental health that includes working with clients in various departments, such as the Assertive Community Treatment program, Integrated Home Health program, Outpatient, and Residential. With a client-centered approach, I aim to establish a strong therapeutic alliance by providing a safe and non-judgmental environment built on trust. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy to aid adults and couples struggling with obstacles preventing them from finding fulfillment. My dedication to providing clients with effective and compassionate care is a testament to my commitment to the mental health field.
